Dental Veneers

As most people aren’t born with a stunning, celebrity smile, fortunately, there are smile-enhancing options.

Veneers are one of the best ways to cover various tooth imperfections. At Tandara Dental Centre, we offer comprehensive cosmetic treatment options like custom veneers to give you a beautiful smile that you can be proud of.

What Are Veneers?

Our ceramic and porcelain veneer options allow us to recreate the appearance of your smile, by applying a thin layer of material over the front of each tooth. They can address the following tooth concerns:

  • Broken, worn or chipped enamel
  • Crooked teeth
  • Discolouration and staining
  • Uneven smiles
  • Cosmetically, want a straight, beautiful, white smile
  • Teeth are too small or large, causing unwanted and uneven spaces or gaps

Depending on the number of veneers needed, as well as the location of the teeth, we may recommend either a porcelain or composite veneer.

TypesOf Dental Veneers

At Tandara Dental Centre Gosnells, we offer two types of custom made veneers that are tailored to your needs
and allow you to enjoy a natural, full smile at the fraction of the cost when compared to other dental
treatments. Veneers are also far less invasive compared to other cosmetic dentistry options, such as braces or
dental implants. Different types of veneers depends on the material chosen:

Porcelain Veneers

Cost: $550 – $1000

These veneers are created in our lab and usually, take two appointments to complete. First, we prepare the teeth and take an impression, which is then sent to our technician. Once the permanent veneers are made, we have you come back to the clinic to bond them into place. They provide the best aesthetics and long-term wear possible.

Porcelain Veneers

Composite Veneers

Cost: $290 – $350

Created here in our office, composite veneers are a bit more affordable. Each one is handcrafted during your visit, by one of our dentists. After shaping the tooth-coloured material to your tooth into the ideal form, we cure it into place with a bright light.

How ArePocelain Veneers Applied?

The procelain veneer procedure has been split into three stages:

  • 1 1

    Consultation and treatment plan

We take a 3D scan to assess the amount of bone throughout the jaws. Once we have this information, we can precisely plan where and at what angle the implant should be placed. Dr Saurabh surgically places the implant and covers it with gum tissue.

  • 2 2

    Temporary dental veneers provided

This is then sent to our technician where your veneers are carefully made. In the meantime, you will be provided a temporary veneer to wear from 1 to 3 weeks.

  • 3 3

    Placing of new porcelain veneers

On your next appointment, you will have the opportunity to give any feedback on the look and feel of your temporary veneers. Once your new veneers arrive and you’re happy with everything, we’ll remove the temporary veneers while you’re under anesthesia to ensure you feel no pain. Your new ceramic ones will be gently bonded onto your teeth using bonding cement.

Frequently Asked Questions

You’ll be numbed with local anaesthesia to make sure you don’t feel anything during the procedure. Most patients who receive 2 to 4 veneers experience little to no pain or discomfort after the procedure.

Patients who received 8 to 10 veneers may feel some mild soreness and discomfort in the gums and jaw. This can generally be relieved with over-the-counter medications or as advised by your dentist.

The main disadvantage of getting porcelain veneers is that they are permanent, but not forever. It is an irreversible process where the tooth is shaved down to place a veneer over the top. Although the list of advantages greatly outweighs the cons, just be mindful that veneers are a lifelong treatment.

Alternatives to dental veneers can include dental crowns, dental implants or dental bonding to repair small sections of a tooth.

Even though porcelain veneers are highly resistant to stains and damage, if you want them to last for a long time, you’ll need to make sure they are properly cared for. Here are some simple tips to maintain and care for your veneers.

Practice proper oral care and hygiene: regular brushing and flossing at least twice a day. This will help maintain your veneers and prevent gum disease.
Use a soft toothbrush: avoid using a hard-bristled toothbrush, as it can damage the polish on the veneer and avoid any harsh toothpastes. Your dentist will generally advise on a good toothpaste and toothbrush to use on your new veneers.
See your dentist every 6 months. Regularly scheduled dental appointments will ensure your gums and teeth remain healthy and prolong the lifespan of your veneers.
Avoid chewing hard foods. Although highly durable, porcelain veneers aren’t quite as strong as natural teeth. Avoid chewing on ice, hard candies and any other hard objects.
Avoid teeth-staining food and drink. Although porcelain veneers are resistant to stains, the adhesive the veneers attached to are not. Avoid coffee, tea and red wine, which can cause the edges of your veneers to become yellowed or darkened. Using a straw can help decrease the chances of staining.
